Final fantasy VII Side Quest Guide

This guide is Created and written by Alex Santos and edited by Christopher Cruz

This is my very own guide on final fantasy 7.
Please give it to people who need help on the ever fun sidequests on this masterpiece of a game.

Version1.0: --11/16/2001--I was board so I started this guide.It's 3AM and I think I need More Sleep.Woke up and couldnt get back to sleep.

Version1.5--9/17/2001--It's now 7am and I'm fixing some spelling.

Version2.0-9/29/01--I added a whole new section to it. Its called useful Materia.

Version3.0-11/21/01--I added Yet another section to my already long guide. its called useful items.

Version4.0I (dont know what day it is)-added the Ruby Weapon strategy.

CHOCCOBOS : THE BREEDING SECRETS

Green Choccobo: This birdie err..monster..or something has the ability to climb mountain areas. To get one of these you need a Carbo nut (found in front of bone village stolen from a called Valkarados). You also need a male great choboco and a female good choboco. You can find the male choccobo around the Mideel area and the female around the Gold Saucer area.

Blue Choccobo: This Choboco has the Ability to cross the oceans.
This is the same as a green exept you use a female great and a male good.(see above)
Black Choccobo: Ability to cross water & mountain
To get one of these you need to mate a blue with a green.(I found out the higher the race level the better the odds)
Gold Ghoccobo: able to travel anywhere on the map
This is a pretty long process. First you need a Zeio nut (from a goblin from goblin island an island off the shores of Meedell)
then you need a s-class yellow race choccobo and a black.when you mate them with the zeio nut you might get a gold!(this is the only choccobo that can reach the island with Knights of the Round Table!!)

Added effect +Time--inflicts stop or slow

Added effect+Poison--inflicts poison

Added effect+Mime--very unstable.too unreliable.

so basically added effect works well with most status inflicting magic,but if you do this with cure you will regret it.

Counter+Deathblow--duh!!you get to counter with a deathblow.

Counter+Steal--they hit you,you mug them.who gets the better end of the deal??

Couter+Summon--you counter with a summon
Are you getting the clue? you can just attach what you want to counter with to the counter.

Sneak Attack+Knights of the Round Table (ktrt)--you start the fight with ktrt.

and the best of all!!!!!!
Final Attack+Phoenix Summon--when you are about to die youre alive again!?what the hells wrong with that picture!It works even more efectivly when both are masterd.

The Recruits:Vincent and Yuffie

Yuffie:to get yuffie you run into a forest and fight a mystery ninja.when you win you should be in a field with a save point.
DO NOT USE THE SAVE POINT OR SHE WILL RUN AWAY.talk to her and when she asks for a rematch say not intrested.the she will ask if you are afraid of her say petrified.the tell her the story and say lets hurry,dont even ask her name.

Vincent:Go to the safe room in shrina mansion and put in the following numbers:Right 36,left 10,right 59,right 97.

The ledgandary materia:the choccobo materia(and hard to get.)

Knights of the round table--on an uncharted island in the most northwest corner of the map.

Quadra Magic--found on island stretch by meedel.

Mime--found on the cave by wutai island stretch.

HP*MP Switch-found in cave on other side of river near corel.

Contain--first go to the choccobo farm and buy the most expensive green,then go to meedel and find the tiny green choccobo with the woman and give it to him.then scratch him behind the ear and he will drop it.

Final Attack--to get this you first have to win the w-summon and the omnislash.then go back and they will ask you if you want to participate in a special battle.say yes.make sure you are well prepared as theses are tough battles.the last battle is aginst proud cloud.when you beat him they will give you final attack.

Alexander--To get this you need cloud after the lifestream bursts in middeel.When you go to the cave near the cliff Where Before the guy told you to go away before he has to hurt you.This time,He'll Jump up and say "you Dare touch me with the same filthy hand that touched that horrible life Stream.After that you have to fight a snow woman and once you win he will dissapear and drop Alexander.
Choccobo races: take it from the master

the best way to train you're choccobo,you'll need a lot a money becuse you need to buy a lot of greens.first buy 99 of every greens,then you feed it to one of youre choccobo.I reccomend at least a blue or green,as yellow's arnt good for racing.It should be faster than most of the other choccobo.but when you get into then a-class or b-class there is a black choccobo named theio.he gave me problems.But if you hold the top 4 buttons to keep youre stamina,You can pull out at the begining of the race and slow down and start restoring stamina,Then use all of it at the end.YOU WIN!(if you still need help send me an e-mail to scadoo_man@hotmail.com

Useless Crap

Glitch:dead end
When on disc 1 at the part where you're supposed to go to the slepping forest in bone village. instead go to Wutai.You wownt be able to do anything and have to reset the game.

Glitch:looping magic
Cast reflect on everyone including the enemy.the do a magic spell.It will bounce back and forth and you will have to reset the game.

Emerald weapon stratagy:Thank me later

When I say thank me later I mean it.this has to be one of the toughest guys in the game.If you can beat him toward the end of disc two,then it should be pretty easy to beat Sepiroth at the end of the game.So north cave will be no sweat!Trust me he's hard becuse I had A very hard time with him.I counted and it took me 267 tries to beat him.
Attacks:
Normal hit is about 2000-2500
emerald shot is about 5000
emerald beam is about 7000
Then he opens his eyes which doesnt hurt you
then when you kill a eye he does revenge stamp which dose about 4000
when all the eyes are dead he does Aire tam storm(Aire tam=materia spelld backwards)this attack depends on how much materia you have on.(11times how much materia you have on)If you dont have any on it does nothing.
Examples:
1=1111
2=2222
3=3333
4=4444
5=5555
6=6666
7=7777
8=8888
9=9999
Get it?

Cheap stratagy:Have Imortality

just attach Pheonix+final attack when they are both masterd so when you die you cast pheonix to revive yourself.

Killin' with magic(without MP!)
In order to do this,you need to have the mp absorb and knights of the round table





-------------------------------------Ruby weapons Battle: I found him on accident

I was crusin low on my way to the Gold saucer,then out of nowhere,BLAM!!Scared the hell out of me!Good thing I was on my way to the battle arena,so I was prepared.Hopefully You will be too!Hes the red thing that squirms in the desert.

Sandstorm throws a person out of battle.Ruby likes to go 1on1.If you dont want your best person thrown out,get into a normal battle beforehand and kill the other two pepole.

After its 1on1,he puts his tentacles into the ground and they come up behind you.Watch out for them because they hit you and sometimes inflict status effects,so wear a ribbon.they also prevent you from escaping,even with exit.

for this fight you want to find a magig to do major damage because attacks do next to nothing.but I recomend using the Alexander summon on the tentacles and kill them first,because that gives him one less weapon,unless he sticks them in the ground agian,which he sometimes does

his main attack is ruby ray.its also one of the best moves he has.since this weapon doesnt do aire tam storm(see above)you can have all the materia you need,so dont forget about the mixture of phenoix+final attack.

also use the combo of knights of the round with a hp absorb and a mime.first cast the ktrt and then mime it through the whole battle.dont do any other moves or it will screw up the whole thing,unless you have a higher level ktrt.

Useful Materia
Knights of the round table-The ultimate magic.The only way to access it is to ride to an uncharted island on a gold choccobo.It hits 13 times with different elements.The down side is you cant attach Quadra on it,but you can use magic plus on it.This is key to beating the weapons.(emerald,ruby,and if you can raise the choccobo well,Ultima and Dimond.)

Hp plus-Brings up hp.Since you cant get 9999 life yourself,these are key.

Luck plus-also key.pepole will hit you less,which makes you even tougher.

Restore-Figure it out for yourself

Contain-It imobilizes youre opponent,but it's just like running away

All-Annother obvious one.

Double cut-This is real helpful when youre attacks do 9,999

Slash all-hits all enemys with a single attack.

Long Range-Attacks do the same damage even from back row.

Mime-becuse you can use magic that would usualy be too much MP to use. Basically it's free!

Quadra-uses 4 magic for the price of 1.

Final attack-Gives you that last resort.

Desruct-One hit kill!Good deal!

Phenoix-revive pepole that are dead??!Can anyone tell me what that might go good with?

Alexander-It's the only holy Spell in the game.

Barrier-Use Reflect on youreself and cast magic on youreself ad it doubles the damage of the spell(exept summons.Summons will still hurt you.)

Exit-Get away from those annoying weak pepole.

Ultima-Way awsome!Look for youreself.

Wall-barrier and a Mbarrier together.

Holy torch-Cast DE-spell On Enemy

Elixer-toataly heals 1 person

MegaElixer-Duh!

Dream powder-puts enemy to sleep

Phenoix down-Revives 1 person

X-potion-Fully heals one person.you can morph the midgar zolom to get one

Hero drink-brings one persons status up

Cats bell-Adds one hp per step

Light curtain-casts barrier

Running shoes-Auto haste

Ribbon-Eliminates all abnormal(harmful)stauts

Right arm-Awsome explosive

Power source-Brings up 1 persons strength

Luck source-Raises luck

Magic Source-Raises magic

Speed source-Raises speed

Guard source-Raises endureance

Stardust-casts comet 2

Curse ring-brings all status up but puts you in death sentence

Dragon scales-water damage on all opponents

Cauldron-does all abnormal status to 1 enemy(same as Hades)

Bird wing-throws 1 opponent out of battle

Turbo ether-Fully restores mp
